While some Sorcerer builds might have fallen in Diablo 4 season 4, it doesn’t mean that they don’t have any builds that can compete at the top of the ladder. In fact, Sorcerers are by far the best speed farming class out there while also being capable of pushing high Pits and destroying bosses. Here’s the 3 best Sorcerer builds in Diablo 4 Season 4.
Frozen Orb Sorcerer
The Frozen Orb Sorcerer is the most popular build in Diablo 4 season 4. The new Fractured Winterglass unique amulet released in season 4 catapulted the Frozen Orb build as the Sorcerer’s strongest build.
The build revolves around spamming Frozen Orb while maintaining enough resource generation to have a 100% uptime attack with this mana-hungry skill. The problem is always keeping the resource up through aspects, mana regen, and gear stats.
You are looking for two key unique items: Tibault’s Will and Fractured Winterglass. Tibault’s Will completely solves your resource generation problems, allowing you to change a few mana affixes or aspects to add more damage. Fractured Winterglass activates the build’s damage, so if you haven’t found this yet, don’t give up on the build.
While the build needs these two unique items, the rest are optional. Endgame variations add uber unique items, such as Harlequin Crest and Ring of Starless Skies. You can even add Tyrael’s Might to add some more survivability and replace a defensive aspect.
Other unique items include Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Loop, Esu’s Heirloom, and Godslayer Crown to add more damage. The build’s playstyle wants to attack at a distance but is also versatile enough to deal damage up close because of its strong defensive abilities like Flame Shield, Ice Armor, and Teleport. Frozen Orb crushes bosses because of its high stagger rate through the constant application of crown-control effects.
Fire Bolt Sorcerer
While Frozen Orb is the most all-around Sorcerer build, Fire Bolt is the strongest boss-killing build. The build focuses on a basic skill, Fire Bolt, which doesn’t use any resource or mana at all.
The build has one mandatory unique: the Flameweaver gloves. This unique splits your Firebolt into three when passing through a Firewall, giving you more than triple the damage. The build wants to stack as much burning damage on the enemy, which takes some time to build up.
You also want to Temper your weapons to have a 100% chance to cast Fire Bolt twice, and you want to stack as much attack speed and + Ranks to Fire Bolt as possible. Lucky Hit Chance is extremely high with the Fire Bolt skill, so adding Lucky Hit Chances to apply stun, slow, and freeze through Tempering will help you stagger bosses faster.
There is also a Fire Bolt variant, dubbed the Immortal Sorcerer, because if you stack enough Cooldown Reduction, especially with a Harlequin’s Crest, you can have a 100% uptime on Flame Shield, literally making you immortal.
The build is quite slow, so it isn’t good for speed farming. While you can turn it into a speed demon, there are a lot of changes to be made within the build which makes it a bad all-around build apart from high Pit pushes or bosses.
Fireball Sorcerer
While the Frozen Orb is the best all-around build and the Fire Bolt is the best single-target build, the Fireball Sorcerer is one of the fastest and flashiest speed farming builds.
Like the previous two builds, you are also looking for a mandatory unique, the Gloves of the Illuminator. The unique adds four needed stats for the build, including its unique effect that makes your Fireball bounce multiple times.
Using the Fireball enchantment that detonates slain enemies into another Fireball causing a chain reaction of Fireballs all over the area, giving you unbelievable AoE damage against numerous foes.
It is a resource-heavy build, so using Tibault’s Will or Ring of Starless Skies will help you with your resource generation.
Without these unique, you can rely on Tempering resource affixes on rings, Mana Per Second affixes on your chest and helm, and aspects like Prodigy’s and Incendiary.
Your only main problem is solving your resource problems, but once these are solved through unique items and aspects, you are blowing through nightmare dungeons and low-mid tier Pits in under 2 minutes. The build is extremely weak against bosses because you rely heavily on multiple enemies to add more explosions.
If you are struggling to find any of the unique items for the builds, you can target-farm them by summoning the right bosses. For uber unique items, you can farm Resplendent Sparks to craft them.
