Does Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Have Crossplay? – Answered

At least it has rollback!

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection was one of the best reveals from yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, and it collects over seven CAPCOM titles. Apart from Punisher, all the titles are fighting games, including the legendary Marvel vs Capcom 2. These come with online support, as well as rollback netcode, but does the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection have crossplay? Here is everything you need to know.

Does Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Have Crossplay?

No, Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection does not have crossplay support between platforms. This information comes directly from the official website of the upcoming release.

This is a bit of a shame because the game is available on multiple platforms including PC, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch. Playing online within the platform’s ecosystems is nice, but given how crossplay is basically a standard for modern fighting games, it’s disappointing to see this modern repackaging without the feature. Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and even Mortal Kombat 1 have crossplay support now.

PlayStation users will need a PlayStation Plus subscription, while Nintendo Switch requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play online. The collection also has casual, and ranked matches with leaderboards and league points as well. There is a lot of content here, and if you’re even remotely interested in the series, this is shaping up to be the definitive way to experience it.

Similarly, players can enjoy online co-op in The Punisher, as well as a spectate mode to watch their friends play.

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Release Date

The collection is coming to PC, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch in 2024.

The collection is not coming to Xbox consoles, and a version hasn’t been announced as of yet.

Speaking of crossplay, EA Sports College Football 25 is coming out next month on multiple platforms, so make sure to read up on its crossplay and cross-progression features.
