Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is the major expansion of the seminal action RPG from FROMSOFTWARE. The expansion is coming to PCs and consoles on June 21, 2024, and includes an update for the base title as well which adds new quality-of-life features and some additional content. With that said, there’s also been a slight update in the PC specifications, and here are the official Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC minimum and recommended system requirements to play the expansion.

The requirements are largely the same as the original game, apart from the inclusion of Intel Arc GPUs, as well as an increased storage requirement of 80 GB from 60 GB. You should expect the same performance as the base game for the most part unless FROMSOFTWARE has some optimizations planned for the upcoming expansion that we don’t know of.
If you’re looking to play the game at higher settings, a GTX 1070 with 8 GB of VRAM paired with a Ryzen 5 3600X is recommended. If you’re using an Intel Arc GPU, then an Arc A750 with 8 GB of VRAM is recommended.
Elden Ring isn’t exactly a demanding title, but it does have stuttering issues that haven’t been addressed to this day. It’s also still locked at 60 FPS, and you need to use a mod to unlock the framerate. While we don’t expect any upscaling technologies in Elden Ring anytime soon, it would be an incredible addition if FROMSOFTWARE considers adding DLSS or XeSS to the title.
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is possibly their best port yet, and it has the inclusion of a 120 FPS mode, and zero stutter, which gives us hope that future FROMSOFTWARE releases might be in even better shape.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is out soon, and you can expect similar performance as the base game, especially with these “updated” specifications in mind. Make sure to keep an on our dedicated section for even more guides on the base game and expansion.
