When Helldivers 2 launched, the max level was 50 for all Super Earth recruits, and there are plenty of Divers who have been able to reach that in no time. However, the maximum has been increased, and we have the details for you in this guide for Super Earth’s protectors.
What is the Level Cap in Helldivers 2?
The max level in Helldivers 2 has been increased to 150 overall. Skull Admiral is the name of the final rank, which is a fairly significant upgrade from the best of us before. Finally, the most dedicated Divers among us can have a title that sets them apart from the rest of the fleet. Reaching the maximum was already a decent grind for casual players who play on mid-tier difficulties or even on the lower end. So when you see a Skull Admiral, or if you aim to reach that yourself, you know they put some hours in.
The level cap increase was put into effect in Helldivers 2 on April 2, 2024. This was part of a balance-focused update, but there were some small additions to the game. Along with tripling the number of ranks within the progression system, two new hazards were added to some planets. Blizzards and Sandstorms will now be a regular part of the chaos depending on where the war effort takes you. Hopefully, those add some diversity to your tours around the galaxy because reaching the max rank is going to take more than a few long nights of gaming.
If you’re a player who wants to reach the max rank in Helldivers 2 as fast as you can, there are certainly ways to make it easier. First and foremost, you want to play all your missions on Helldive difficulty, which is the hardest tier of them all. It will be tough, but if you know how to utilize your tools, it will guarantee you the most XP per game by far. Mix this with a solid squad of four players and you can farm XP at a surprisingly fast rate. Ranks in Helldivers 2 don’t mean too much after 50, though, and I would recommend just enjoying the ride.
In the meantime, try out the new Heavy Machine Gun as you earn all that XP.
