Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the latest release from ATLUS and SEGA on PC, and it’s one of the least demanding titles from the studio yet. The PC version has support for multiple controller types and works quite well with a keyboard and mouse as well. However, if you’re running into any issues with your controllers while playing Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, here is how you can fix that.
Fixing Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Controller Issues
To make sure your controllers are working properly in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance you need to ensure that Steam Input is enabled.
To do this, follow the steps below:
- Make sure Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance isn’t running
- Open Steam, and navigate to your library
- Here, right-click on Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and select Properties
- In the Controller tab, select the Enable Steam Input option under Override for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
That’s all you have to do, and your connected controller should work properly when you launch the game.
Controller Support on PC
We have tested the Xbox Series controller, as well as the DualShock 4. Both controllers work flawlessly, as long as you have enabled Steam Input to load the layout set by the developers.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance also lets you choose button prompts for a variety of controllers. These include Xbox, PlayStation, and even Switch button prompts. These can be changed in the General settings, specifically the Button Icon Settings.
“Standard” will default to the connected controller type, while Type 1-4 represents specific button prompts.
Check Detected Controllers
If you still can’t get your controllers to work, make sure Steam is detecting the ones you have plugged in. To check detected controllers in the Steam client, simply select Steam > Settings > Controller:
