How to Get Copper in Pax Dei

Finally, another different shaded rock!

Pax Dei has tons of resources involving metallurgy. The earliest forms of metals are already hard to find and once you get to the more refined Iron Ores and Copper, it gets even harder to find. For Copper Deposits, they are quite easy to differentiate from the other deposits and here’s where you can find and mine Copper Ores in Pax Dei.

Where to Find Copper Deposits in Pax Dei

Copper Deposits spawn in mountainous or rocky areas. You can find this “biome” by opening the map and looking for those hill-shaped icons on the map. However, not all mountainous areas have Copper Ores. The closest ones to the starting areas actually only spawn Granite, Impure Iron Ores, and Gneiss Deposits.

You have to look to the middle of the map and go past the reddish line you see all over the map. Go to the darker side in the middle and look for the rocky areas past the reddish line. One example would be the image on top. You’ll find Tin, Copper, and Iron Deposits here. However, you still need to be prepared when farming resources in this area.

Firstly, you need to upgrade your tools. You’ll need at least an Iron Pickaxe to mine any of these deposits. Secondly, you need to prepare for battle. There are going to be some tougher enemies like wolves, boars (in groups), and bears. You need to at least craft some armor, preferably the iron or leather sets. Thirdly, you want to stock up on some food. You don’t need to cook good consumables. You just need to at least get three active food buffs at a time, like a Raspberry, a Grape, and an Apple. You’ll also get some stamina buff from food, so you can farm deposits quicker.

What Are Copper Ores Used For?

Copper Ores unlock the Copper Ingot recipe from the Furnace. You get 10 Copper Ingots for 20 Copper Ores and 30 Charcoal per craft. Each craft takes 45 minutes to finish. After getting the Copper Ingots, you can use them to craft the following tools:

  • Basic Jewelcrafting Tools
  • Distilling Tools
  • Basic Apothecary Instruments

These basic tools unlock three different lines of resources, which will also require Copper Ingots and other materials. You’ll also need to craft some Rough Glass to craft these tools.

I suggest building more Furnaces since you’ll be crafting Rough Glass, Iron Ingots, Copper Ingots, and Wrought Iron Ingots.
