Pax Dei has several recipes available for one single resource. This makes that particular resource very vital to have a huge stockpile in your chests or storage. Sapwood is probably the biggest one, and it is used to craft several resources that are required to build walls, structures, and even tools. These crafts go from Planks all the way to Wooden Beams, which are all heavily used in the game. Here’s a quick guide on how to unlock and get Wooden Beams to start your base-building adventures in Pax Dei.
How to Craft Wooden Beams in Pax Dei
To craft Wooden Beams, you need to get a Construction Hammer and some Sapwood first. You can pick up some tree branches on the floor for some easy Sapwood if you don’t have a chopping axe yet.
After getting Sapwood, use your Construction Hammer to place a Wood Chopping Block using Sapwood. Once it is placed, interact with it and look for the Wooden Beams craft. It’ll take 10 Sapwood to craft 5 Wooden Beams. However, you’ll also need to craft other items like Long Wood Stock, Wooden Pegs, Planks, and Short Wood Stock with your Sapwood.
If you don’t have a steady supply of Sapwood, you should only craft enough Wooden Beams for the one you want to craft. Once you progress a little more, it is also best to have at least 8-10 chests filled exclusively for these materials.
You can have a chest exclusive to Short Wood Stock, Wooden Beams, Long Wood Stock, Planks, and Wooden Pegs. The rest should be used for Sapwood since it is also needed for Charcoal and other construction objects.
What Are Wooden Beams Used For?
Wooden Beams are mostly used for the following crafts:
- Roof Supports
- Roofs
- Walls
- Workbenches and Tables
There are more recipes out there, but if you are decorating or fixing your base, you’ll need a ton of Wooden Beams just to create the roof and walls of your base. Once you unlock other tools, you’ll need Wooden Beams to craft most of the workbenches. In short, you’ll need thousands of Sapwood once you hit the mid-game.
