Pax Dei has a very deep base building system, so you have to consider the structural integrity of your base so it won’t fall apart. Just thinking about this makes you already think about how many resources you need to build your dream base. One of the most used resources for base building is Wooden Pegs, and here’s how you can get a lot of them in Pax Dei.
Where to Get Wooden Pegs in Pax Dei
The first thing you need to do is to craft a Wood Chopping Block using your Construction Hammer. If you haven’t crafted your Construction Hammer yet, you should craft it by pressing “Tab” and finding the Construction Hammer craft.
Use the Construction Hammer and 10 Sapwoods to craft the Wood Chopping Block. For now, you can place it anywhere. You can always destroy it and get all the resources back. Go to the Wood Chopping Block and look for the Wooden Pegs. To craft Wooden Pegs, you’ll need 5 Sapwood per craft. However, each craft gives you a whopping 50 Wooden Pegs, so it isn’t that bad.
They only stack up to 100 in your inventory or inside a chest, so mass-crafting Wooden Pegs isn’t a good idea unless you have enough storage in your base. Also, you might need the extra Sapwood to craft other base-building materials like Planks in the future.
What Are Wooden Pegs Used For?
Even if you can craft 50 Wooden Pegs for every 5 Sapwood, it is still one of the most used resources in the early game so you’ll still need a lot of them.
Wooden Pegs are used to make beds, wooden winches (to make a Water Well), specific workbenches, walls, stairs, and roofs.
The walls, stairs, and roofs already require thousands of Wooden Pegs, depending on your base design. If you progress a bit more and unlock the other workbenches like Fletching, Tailoring, or Leatherworking, you’ll need even more of them.
