Stunlock Studios’ survival game V Rising may have been on your radar for a while now, but you might’ve waited to pick it up for one reason or another. Whether that be because of waiting for friends, wanting to wait for 1.0, or if you’re like me, you’re indecisive about just about any decision you have to make. Well, now is a better time than any since, with V Rising releasing in 1.0 this May, the team is upping the game’s price on April 5. If you want the best price you’ll get for the game for a good while, now is the chance.
On April 5, 2024, the price of V Rising will jump from around $19.99 up to $34.99, meaning you’ll need to drop nearly double what you would’ve paid should you want to buy it down the line. The reason behind this choice is simple: since the game has gotten a ton more content since it debuted in Early Access back in May 2022, there’s a lot more value in the package. That naturally necessitates a price increase so that the developer can recoup the development costs. Thankfully, though, there’s still time to snag it at that lower price.
You can get it even cheaper if you’re willing to venture beyond Steam. Key seller Fanatical is currently selling Steam copies of V Rising for $15.99, along with site Indiegala selling it for an even better $14.79. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Indiegala, and have even used Fanatical in the past, so I can vouch for its trustworthiness. Once they do send you a code, you simply have to claim it through Steam in the bottom-left of the client. From there, it’s yours along with the 1.0 update when it releases. I’ll likely be picking up a copy myself since I want to play this with friends down the line. That is, if we can ever get a squad of us together for a gaming session.
